The idea of combining a bike stand, mudguard and luggage rack in this way is simply fantastic and has been done superbly here. The RackStand can be attached to virtually any bike.
Eurobike Awards JuryMontague’s new RackStand serves as a bike’s rear rack, fender and a kickstand or workstand. It’s compatible with 700c, 26-inch or 27.5-inch wheels and will work with quick release or bolt-on axles. It also is available for OE sales.
“We wanted to create a product that could do it all,” said Jonathan Vandenberg, Montague’s product manager. “Cyclists have long had to purchase several accessories separately; racks, fenders, and kick stands, and they’ve struggled with making drivetrain adjustments without expensive dedicated work stands. The RackStand combines all of these into one versatile product.”

Pivoting around the axle, the system rotates from luggage rack to bike stand with the release of the seatpost mounted latch. An added perk of the system is that it can be used as a workstand with which access to the drivetrain and brakes is simple.
The system will also be sold as an aftermarket kit that will fit other brands.

Montague Unveils RackStand™: Takes Home Eurobike Award
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Montague Bikes has introduced a revolutionary new rear bicycle rack called RackStand. The unique design allows RackStand to function as a luggage carrier, mudguard, kickstand, and work stand all in one unit. It can be fitted with panniers like a traditional rear rack, while a quick release allows it to rotate under the rear wheel on the axle mount.

When in the lowered position, RackStand not only serves as a kickstand to hold up the bike, but raises the rear wheel off the ground and allows for easy adjustments to the derailleurs.
Montague’s RackStand was chosen to receive a Eurobike Award, one of the leading international design awards for companies in the bike industry. Eurobike Awards are given to new product designs that exhibit a high level of innovation, functionality, quality and sustainability.

Several bike models from Montague’s line of full-size folding bikes will come equipped with the RackStand. It has additional advantages when used with a Montague where it assists in folding the bike and allows it to rest on the stand in the folded position.
RackStand is compatible with any 700c, 26″, or 27.5″ wheel, and can be fitted to both quick release and bolt on axles. It is available for OE specification and coming soon for aftermarket sales.
